About us

Monitoring opacity, smoke, dust and particle emissions

With over 35 years of experience, Acoem Dynoptic (Dynoptic Systems Ltd) has established itself as a recognised specialist in the design and manufacture of high technology instrumentation for opacity, dust, particulate and smoke monitoring.

Founded in 1979 as an independent electronics design house; the business evolved to become an electronics development company designing circuits and embedded software for leading industry clients. With increasing interest in environmental issues and new international legislation, Acoem Dynoptic identified a need for cost effective yet reliable continuous emissions monitoring equipment. This lead to the design and manufacture of our own comprehensive range of instrumentation.

Our Philosophy is to provide our customers with a quality, yet affordable, range of opacity, dust and particulate monitors. We believe that this is reflected in not only the durability and reliability of our products but also in our commitment to maintaining a multidiscipline engineering team capable of supporting customer’s needs.

With in-house manufacturing, assembly, software design and  R&D capabilities, the team has responsibility for all activities from  design conception to final product. As a company with a firm foundation in electronic engineering, we have a flair for research and a track record of turning that research into powerful, marketable products.

Continuing the Company’s tradition in developing new and innovative products, in 2005 Tunnel Sensors was formed, manufacturing a range of air pollution monitoring equipment designed specifically for the tunnel market.

In 2019 Dynoptic Systems Ltd (and Tunnel Sensors) became part of the ACOEM Group. With Headquarters in France and offices around the world, ACOEM are a global leader in environmental monitoring helping companies and public authorities control and reduce their impact on the environment.

ACOEM’s products and services enable customers to prevent noise and vibration pollution, improve air quality and increase the productivity and reliability of industrial machines.

Today Acoem Dynoptic has three core business activities...

Opacity, dust, smoke and particulate continuous emission monitoring equipment

Tunnel atmosphere and gas monitoring under our Tunnel Sensors brand.

Electronics development for client lead projects for design of instrumentation software / hardware for bespoke applications

Product Applications

Below are our core product applications, simply select them for more information about suitable monitors

Dynoptic opacity monitors use the light transmission technique to measure the visible opacity of exhaust gas in a duct, stack or flue.

Particulate monitoring requires the measurement of the mass concentration of particulate matter in stack emissions to atmosphere.

Dynoptic dust monitors use DDP (optical scintillation which measures the dynamic fluctuation in light transmission as dust particles move through a light beam.
